MISSING IN ACTION: The Storm will again be without star fullback Billy Slater (knee), keeping Gareth Widdop in the custodian’s role and Maurice Blair at five-eighth. The club will be hoping Cooper Cronk, Cameron Smith and Dane Nielsen back up fully fit from the Origin decider.
The return of prop Dave Shillington from QLD Origin duties pushes new boy Mark Nicholls out of the 17 in the only change to the Raiders side that toppled the Dragons on Monday night. The Raiders have nine players unavailable through injury, including fullback-come-five-eighth Josh Dugan, who is due back from an ankle injury in three weeks.

FORM: The ladder-leading Storm enjoyed a much-needed bye last weekend following a 20-4 defeat at the hands of the high flying Bulldogs in Mackay a fortnight ago. Melbourne had enough ball in the second half to win several matches, but Canterbury’s goal line defence met just about every challenge thrown at it. This was a match where Billy Slater’s absence really told for the Storm.
Canberra had to win on Monday night to keep their slim finals hopes alive and they did that thanks to a hat-trick from full-back Reece Robinson, including the match-winner three minutes from full-time. The Green Machine appeared down and out with time ticking away and the Dragons looked to be coming home the stronger at 18-16 in front. But in keeping with the much talked about Canberra Stadium ‘hoodoo’, the Dragons’ defence duly capitulated during a crucial moment late in the game, handing the Raiders a 22-18 win.
