MISSING IN ACTION: The Broncos welcome back some significant talent this week, with Justin Hodges and 300-gamer Petero Civoniceva returning from their Origin-induced rests last week. Skipper Sam Thaiday has palmed off the option of shoulder surgery and will take his place in the second-row, while Corey Parker (shin gash) has not been named, but is expected to take his place at lock with the aid of a custom-made shin guard. Rookies Brendan Gibb and Lachlan Maranta have been dropped back to the Intrust Super Cup to play for the Norths Devils.
No real changes in Rabbitohs land, with Shaune Corrigan and George Burgess added to an extended bench. Superstar Greg Inglis hyper-extended his elbow last weekend, but is expected to play. Injured forward Sam Burgess (knee) is hopeful of a return next week against Penrith.

FORM: The Broncos, minus several of their Origin stars, fought the hard battle for an hour of their clash with the Cowboys last Friday night, but they lacked the attacking finesse to get the points in the final analysis. Credit must go to their defence though for repelling the Cowboys for as long as they did. There is little doubt that Anthony Griffin’s men will be one of the teams to beat once Origin is done and dusted.

The Rabbitohs returned to the top-four courtesy of an easy victory over the disjointed Eels last Saturday night. It wasn’t their most polished performance, but it didn’t have to be against such limp opposition. Long-suffering Bunnies supporters must be getting excited as their club continues to hover around top part of the ladder – a situation that would be completely foreign to many of them.
