MISSING IN ACTION: The hopeful return of NSW Origin forwards Ben Creagh and Trent Merrin will bolster the depth-challenged Dragons pack, as will Beau Scott, who returns from a shoulder injury in the second row. The club is missing Michael Weyman (knee – season), Nathan Fien (knee – Round 15), Josh Miller (cheekbone – Round 15) and Nick Emmett (back – indefinite).
A boost for the Eels, with lock Reni Maitua returning from suspension, but the struggling club is still without injured players Willie Tonga (ankle), Jacob Loko (knee), Ben Smith (pec tear) and Esi Tonga (hamstring). Jarryd Hayne is their only Origin representative.

 FORM: More heartache for Dragons supporters on the weekend, with an Adam Reynolds field goal in the 83rd minute confirming the second golden-point loss in less than a week for the merged club. Unlike their loss to Penrith on the previous Monday, the Dragons actually had all of the early running against the Rabbitohs last Sunday, powering out to a 12-0 lead before Souths clawed their way back to level terms by half-time. The Dragons had several opportunities to put the Bunnies to bed late in the second-half, but the killer blow never came. They have now sunk to 11th spot on the ladder.

The Eels had the bye last week following yet another scattered performance in Round 10. They once again played in patches to go down 40-34 to the Raiders, leaving them stranded at the bottom of the NRL ladder. Scoring a pile of tries in quick time is pointless if you’re going to fade out in the crucial stages.
