MISSING IN ACTION: The Panthers’ injury woes have continued with half-back Luke Walsh ruled out for at least a couple of weeks with a knee injury. Michael Gordon and Nathan Smith are also still missing. In some good news though Michael Jennings (shoulder) and Luke Lewis (arm) should both be right despite picking up knocks on Monday night while hooker Kevin Kingston is a chance to be a late inclusion if he can pass a fitness test. The Storm have an unchanged squad with coach Craig Bellamy still to trim two players from an extended bench.
FORM: Not much to get excited about for Panthers fans with the mountain men managing just two wins for the season, although none of those have come on their home ground. They have managed just 14 points (while conceding 94) in their last three matches and time is fast-running out for Ivan Cleary’s side to get their season on track if they hope to make a play for the finals.
There’s no let-up in Melbourne’s blistering start to the season with the Storm registering eight wins out of eight on the back of the best attack and defence in the competition. They were pushed pretty hard in their last clash against the Warriors on Anzac Day, locked at 14-14 heading into the last 10 minutes until three late tries gave then a comfortable 18-point win. Will be tested in coming weeks when they lose a few of their stars to Origin duty.
