MISSING IN ACTION: Broncos half-back Peter Wallace suffered a groin injury in the defeat in New Zealand last weekend and will miss the match on Friday night. FORM: Brisbane’s exquisite form hit a speed bump last Saturday evening in the form of a fired-up New Zealand Warriors. The Warriors planned to muscle up on their Trans Tasman rivals and it worked a treat for the most part, although Brisbane’s forwards certainly didn’t shy away from any of the contests. The loss of playmaker Wallace to injury late in the first half was a major setback for Brisbane and their crucial last-tackle plays suffered as a result. Anthony Griffin’s men are still well positioned on the ladder with the representative season about to hit full swing.
The Sea Eagles made it back-to-back victories on Sunday against Canberra to move to sixth on the ladder. It was an error-riddled performance, but the boys from the northern beaches found that extra gear when required to take the points in a match that could have gone either way. The Sea Eagles are gradually returning to full-strength. Rival clubs beware!
