MISSING IN ACTION: Roosters coach Brian Smith has made just one minor change with Jake Friend to start at hooker, meaning Anthony Mitchell will revert back to the bench. Kiwi centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall is still missing but they are otherwise at full strength.

FORM: The Roosters snapped a four-game losing streak with their shock 42-28 win over the grief-stricken Wests Tigers last Sunday. Brian Smith’s side raced out to a 30-4 lead early in the second half before holding off a late fightback to notch their sixth win of the campaign. It was a victory that keeps the Tri-Colours in touch for a top eight berth but a loss here would almost certainly end any hope they had of figuring in finals football this season.

Manly’s inconsistent season continued as they went down 26-22 to runaway leaders Melbourne on Monday night. The defeat has seen the Sea Eagles drop back to eighth spot as one of three sides on 18 competition points. With a bye to come after this weekend, victory here is paramount for the premiers if they are to make a push for a top four
